We have used Joe twice now and have been impressed with his professionalism and reliability. Despite knowing us, he took our work seriously and treated us as professionally as all his clients. The first time we used Joe we needed him to feed our ducks twice a day, letting them out in the morning and putting them safely away from the local fox in the evening. He didn't let us down. The second time he came daily to feed and water our guinea pigs. We were happy to leave our keys with him and he moved our post and tidied up after himself very well. Joe seems to have a natural ability to get on with most animals he works with and I know from talking to him how rewarding he is finding his work. Joe has been walking Ellie my young collie, 12 months now and is absolutely the best thing to happen to us. she completely adores him and I have total trust and faith in his excellent care well beyond the call of duty, very important as I work long anti-social shifts and need to know I can safely leave her in his very, professional care. He has been fantastic help in training her from a young pup, with a firm but kind hand, making everything fun and she responds in kind by totally respecting him. She is completely besides herself when (best pal) Joe arrives at the back door to take her out, knowing they'll have fantastic fun & frolics playing throw ball, running her socks off in fenham carr or happily chasing swallows in a sunlit field, what more could a young dog (or very satisfied owner) ask for? We can't remember what life was like without Joe. Our two dogs, Dennis and Barney adore him and, like us, have come to depend on him. Joe is not just a reliable dog walker, he is someone who truly cares about the welfare of his charges. The neighbours' that usually looked after our cat when we went away had moved abroad so we faced the hard choice of who we would choose to look after our cat. We were going for 3 weeks so needed someone reliable, I was worried about letting a stranger have access to our house but as soon as we met Joe we felt totally happy. Joe is extremely professional, everything, from our initial enquiry to our booking, pre holiday meeting and return report was fantastic. Our old dog Gypsy is getting the best possible care whilst we are out at work, from Joe. The first time we met Joe we both noted his natural ease with our dog and how comfortable she seemed with him (she is quite a nervous dog). From that moment on, our confidence in Joe has gone from strength to strength. Nothing is ever too much to ask; he recently walked my mum's 3 flat coat retrievers as well as our dog as a favour for us. I really enjoy reading his weekly email updates; every week I laugh out loud at the antics of Joe and Gypsy out in the park. Joe has been walking Toby, our 3 year old Flat Coat Retriever for 12 months now. During this time he has proved to be very reliable and flexible. He has kept every one of our regular Wednesday appointments, and then when we have had to book extra walks on other days he has always managed to fit us in. A pet log follows every walk and shows that Toby has experienced a variety of adventures at different locations, not just a walk around the block. The vivid description of their escapades illustrates how happy Toby is in Joe's company as he exhibits all the same happy characteristics he does with us. The first time we left our cat Pandy on her own (she normally stays with family or friends) we were incredibly nervous and worried, but Joe reassured us getting in touch every day with updates on Pandy's progress. When we came back Pandy was relaxed and happy and we didn't hesitate one second in contacting Joe the next time we went on holiday. Feel I need to put on record the excellent dog walking service which Joe provides. I have been in Australia for a month and my elderly neighbour was very keen to have the dogs with her for company. Unfortunately she is too frail to walk them. Along came Joe, the answer to all our problems. For a month he walked my two dogs arriving on time each morning and giving them a good walk, encouraging appropriate play. The dogs were completely happy and confident in his company, this I know as I have seen him on my return and observed both dogs response to him. Daisy the 7 month old cockapoo is over the moon with her new best pal Joe, as am I. Although Daisy gets long walks with me, it can be a long day for her when I'm at work. I have felt so much better these past two months knowing that Joe breaks up her day wih a fun filled visit. Joe takes Daisy out for a really good play session, which includes frizbee and ball! He even throws in a bit of training and Daisy's puppy biting has practically ceased under his influence!! Knowing the importance of play for a youngster, Joe has tailored Daisy's outings to suit, which has given a really personal feel to the service he offers. Living alone, I am always security concious and have been so pleased to have found Lancaster Pet Heroes and Joe, whom I am more than comfortable leaving the key to my home with.
